Are you serious about growing your business in 2024? Don’t do these three things:
1 – Blame the Economy.
One thing that has been a recurring theme for the past few years and likely into the foreseeable future is economic uncertainty. It is tempting to blame problems or lack of growth on “these trying times.” The reality is that economic cycles come and go, and the best business owners focus on what they can do, not what might be limiting them.
2 – Keep All Your Money under the Mattress.
While it’s wise to be frugal, don’t be penny wise and pound foolish. To grow in 2024 you’ll need to make some investments, whether it be for new hires, training, technology, or marketing.
Avoid being so risk-averse that you fail to identify the key areas that need investment. Stop waiting for the perfect moment where you are 100% sure you’re making the right spending decision…it’s not going to happen.
3 – Fail to Plan.
Imagine building a house without blueprints. Walls might go up, windows might appear, but it’d be a jumbled, unstable structure vulnerable to collapse. Your business is no different.
Growth without a plan is erratic and chaotic – bursts of energy followed by frustration, wasted resources, and missed opportunities. Skip the plan, and you’re left with a shaky foundation.
